The American people were finally coming around to a willingness for change and acceptance at exactly around the time King got up on this stage. The World was just being able to see through television the atrocities that were occurring at these riots. Therefore, King’s speech unlike others before on this very day was broadcasted all over the world live. In addition, television was just becoming commonplace in most homes all over the country. He had given way to an age of acceptance and change. Kennedy was still alive and had instilled a new hope for American citizens. First off, the early 60s was a time of change and new beginnings. If King were to have given this speech on a different date, then history may have been different and our world may have different and let me tell you why.
